Good Afternoon My Loves,

I'm so thrilled to share the second illustration in my Maiyet SS15 artisan series: the hand beaded Venus Clutch!! I loved taking this piece into the lyrical and surreal world to emphasize the romance of these artisanal accessories. Interview with Fashionista.com!!

Happy Wednesday Dolls!!

A few weeks ago I was interviewed, by the lovely Dhani Mau of Fashionista.com, for an article on "How to Make It as a Fashion Illustrator in 2015." I was so honored to be considered a relevant voice and authority on the topic of fashion illustration today, especially to be written up alongside my longstanding blog/illustrator idol Katie Rodgers of Paper Fashion. I have been following her blog since the time I was still an illustration student at FIT from 2009 - 2011. For all my aspiring illustrators out there, this is a must read article - super informative and inspirational.

Much love,

Maiyet SS15 - Artisan Illustrations

Friday, April 10, 2015

Happy Friday My Darlings,

I hope you all had a rocking week!! I'm so thrilled to announce that this April I'm partnering with one of my all time favorite fashion brands, the incredible Maiyet, on an illustration series inspired by their SS15 collection. In particular, I'm focusing on three specific artisan techniques that were used throughout the collection, beginning with this stunning traditional Indonesian batik print. Check out all the pieces brought to life with this exquisite fabric here and stay tuned for the remaining two bespoke sketches.

Much love,
Meag xx

Postcard from Thailand, Laos, & Cambodia with @Contiki!!

Sunday, April 5, 2015

Two weeks ago today I returned from the trip of a lifetime to Southeast Asia with Contiki Vacations. Though I'm currently in Toronto, if I close my eyes, I can still feel the warmth of the sunset in Van Vieng, Laos over the Nam Song River. Having travelled with Contiki through Turkey, Egypt, and Greece, I thought I would be quite prepared for my excursion with them to Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. As I would quickly come to know, there are some places in the world that you simply can't prepare for...
